Policies & Procedures

Extracurricular Activites

In line with the mandated directives, all Grades 1-6 students are required to wear masks while on school grounds. This includes both the lunch and after school activities program.

Kindergarten children are not mandated to wear masks. While we cannot require them to do so, we strongly recommend that you encourage your child to use one while participating in the activities program. This will help to minimize the risk of contagions and the possible closure of any programs or classrooms.

The instructors are there to teach their specialty, as such, we ask that you review the following with your child/children.

The program operates under the “3 strikes and you’re out” rule.

  • 1st strike, a written note will be sent home with your child explaining the situation.
  • 2nd strike, your child will be suspended from the activity the following week.
  • 3rd strike, you child will be removed from the activity permanently and without refund.

All participants enrolled in the activities program are required to respect the instructor, each other, as well as the environment in which the course is held.

After School Supervision Program

This year, after school supervision will be offered ONLY to children enrolled in the after-school sports activities (Soccer, Cosom Hockey, Martial Arts and Basketball) programs, and only on the day(s) for which they are registered.

After school dismissal and pick up will be via the front entrance of the school ONLY.

Late fees of $5 per 5 minutes will be applied after 6 p.m. and your child/children will not be allowed to return to the activities program until these fees are paid in full. Three (3) late pickups and your child will be permanently removed from ALL after-school activities without refund.

A timely pick up is essential for us to limit congestion and facilitate a smooth and fluid dismissal. After school dismissal and pick up is at the front entrance of the school.

NOTE: There are no after school programs for kindergarten students.

Canceling an Activity

Should you wish to cancel an activity prior to the start date of March 14th you must send a request in writing to activitiescoordinator@roslynhands.ca. Please include the order #, student’s name, and the activity you wish to have removed.

Activities may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Should this occur, a full refund will be given, less processing fees. Space permitting, you will also be given an opportunity to select a different activity for your child should you wish.

Wait Lists

Wait lists will open for an activity once all spaces are assigned. Should a space become available in a particular activity, you will be contacted and offered the opportunity to join the class. Should the wait list for any activity be abundant, a new class may be opened and offered on a new day. You will receive an invitation to join the class baring any conflicts.

Should you decide to remove your child from a particular activity you may allocate that space to a specific child or leave it as an “open donation” for a child who may otherwise not be able to participate in the program. Should you wish to donate the cost of an activity please contact the program coordinator, Debbi Jardine at activitiescoordinator@roslynhands.ca

We make every effort to find the right fit for your child. As such if you wish to change an activity you must contact Debbi Jardine at activitiescoordinator@roslynhands.ca.

Should you wish to withdraw your child completely from a course you MUST do so prior to the start of the 2nd class of the course. Refunds, less a 10% administration fee will be issued. Once your child attends the 2nd class no refund will be issued. Should we encounter a covid case in any activity, we will suspend the activity the following week allowing an appropriate time before we resume.

Given the uncertainty of the current covid situation, the ECA may be suspended at anytime by the Government or the School Board. Should that occur, refunds will be issued ONLY if less than 75% of the course has been delivered by the instructor. No refunds will be issued for the processing fees incurred at registration.

Should you require financial assistance, sponsorship or if you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the program coordinator Debbi Jardine at activitiescoordinator@roslynhands.ca.
