HandS Treasurer
DETAILS:
We’re looking for a Treasurer to help manage HandS finances. This role involves keeping track of money coming in and out, preparing simple reports, and working with the team to support events.
The tasks include:
- Is one of three signatories for the HandS bank account, and is the default approver for invoices
- Keeps an accurate record of all receipts and expenditures.
- Presents regular financial reports at meetings including revenues and expenses
- Keeps an inventory of purchases and assets.
- Submits an annual budget to all members at the first meeting of the school year.
- Keeps all cancelled cheques, invoices, receipts, and other financial records for a minimum of seven years, in a designated area/
- Confers closely with the President and the Executive Committee and participates in all financial decisions.
- After each fundraising event, a report to the president on how much was collected
- Prepares the annual Treasurer’s Financial Report to be presented at the Annual General Meeting to the members.
- Submits Treasurer’s Financial Report to the QFHSA office prior to June 30th.

The Treasurer helps HandS stay financially healthy and transparent. You’ll keep track of income and expenses, prepare short monthly reports, and share updates at meetings. You’ll also help with payments, deposits, and reimbursements. Training and support are available, and you don’t need to be an accountant — just organized and comfortable with numbers. This role usually takes 2–3 hours a month and is essential to keeping our events and programs running smoothly.
